We are replacing 63mm halogen spots with LED bulbs, however that size is difficult to find as LED with GU10 fitting. This is an adapter so one can use standard 50mm GU10 LED bulbs instead.
The height of the lower ring is 3.5mm which was chosen to ensure it's not in the way of the locking-clip that holds the lamp inside the housing.
There are four small bumps on the inside of the adapter that ensure proper fit of the bulb. This way the 50mm lamp "clicks" into the adapter and won't fall out or tilt, which can be important when angling the spots.
