Summary

5.25-inch PC Drive bay Weather Marquee Clock

Installs into a standard 5.25-inch PC Drive bay.
Designed to be printed in four sub-assemblies without using print supports.
Uses the BL-M07X881 LED DOT MATRIX display module & Wemos D1 mini .

There are various sizes of the BL-M07X881 LED DOT MATRIX display module. Some have their matrix units spaced close together and others have up to a 1.5mm gap between the individual display sections. The height of these units is always about 32mm but the overall width of these units have 128.5mm, 129mm or 131.5mm lengths.

Assembly:

1. Determine the BL-M07X881 LED DOT MATRIX display size2. Select the corresponding diffuser grid size and print the parts.3. Snap the outer bezel into the case by angling in the bottom (three tabs) then pushing the top to snap it in place. It is a tight fit.4. Slide the diffuser grid into the bezel from the back.5. Press the display module into the bezel and push it to the grid.6. Insert five DuPont connector wires onto the display pins.7. Slide base onto the case using the side channels. The base holds the Wemos module and also pushes against the display module. Some hot glue can hold the Wemos D1 mini in place8. Wire the Wemos and display per the diagram.9. Get 5VDC to teh Wemos using a USB power cable or wire the 5 volts to the PC power supply10. Slide the unit into a 5.25" bay and secure with self tapping screws.

Original Wemos 8266 WiFi "Marquee Scroller" Clock Case
This is a modified case for the excellent "Marquee Scroller (Clock, Weather, News, and More)" by Qrome on github. Information for the project is here: https://github.com/Qrome/marquee-scroller

The diffuser can be white PLA and printed separately or meshed together with the LED grid and printed in two color layers.
The BL-M07X881 LED DOT MATRIX display modules come in different colors (blue, red or green). They usually have a 5-pin header soldered on one side. The blue LED module looks very nice when used with a diffuser.
