Summary

I have a need for a 45 degree jig for a project coming up and didn't want to spend much to purchase one. Here is what I came up with.

  • The bit sizes are 1/4" and 1/2" (though the tolerances may be a bit tight and you may need to drill out a small amount your first time using it.
  • The distance from the drill hole to the edge of the board is adjustable using the stopper
  • The stopper holes are 1/4" apart
  • The 'keyhole' design of the stopper pins allow you to rotate the stopper to get approximately 1/8" precision when setting the distance.
  • There is a 'sight' to ensure side-to-side alignment
  • The sight extends through the jig to the surface.

The stopper rod is a bit weak when using my printer and I kept breaking them. I've added a 'rod' file that should have improved strength if needed.
