I've been wanting to make this model for a long time now. But I knew this would be very difficult for my wife to finish. But she's gotten to the point that she's so good with this type of stuff. I knew that she could do it now.
So the model is very simple, it's just a sphere cut in half, with 4 stars sticking out of the top of it. It prints with no supports needed.
So in order to finish it, my wife sanded it a bit to reduce the visibility of layer lines, then she primed the crap out of it after gluing it together. In order to fill the seam she used repair putty to fill the crack, then sanded and primed some more. After it was smooth, she sprayed the entire thing yellow with an airbrush. Then she went back and lightly sprayed it with orange to give it a sort of iridescent look. Then she painted the stars with a paint brush. And to wrap the entire thing up, she sprayed it a bunch with a glossy coat.
