Based on the great idea of RichRap:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2769823
This is a lasercut version of the masterspool.
I chose a design of 3 single parts for the following reasons:
Disadvantage:
In addition to the 3D printer, you also need a laser cutter.
The two side parts can also be produced with the router, CNC milling machine, jigsaw, etc.
The 3d printing part has become very simple. Every printer can produce it.
Material:
For the core:
approx. 85g filament at 15% filling, printing time 3-4h
The two side parts:
5mm plexiglass, acrylic, MDF etc.
3x M5x65 (70) or M6x65 (70) alternatively threaded rod
3 butterfly valves M5 or M6
All holes for M6 screws. M5 would be enough. But it's easier to get M6 in length.
Example for filament manufacturer (in Germany)
This design is for a 850g roll with 46..47mm width and an inside radius of 102mm.
I hope there are rolls with 2..3kg filament soon.
I will adapt the design then.
The inner drum can be easily adjusted by extrusion in the slicer.
