Summary

Main Description

This contains all the tiles for a game like Settlers of Catan. The naming convention provides the suggested print-color, the number of copies to print (e.g. "x3").

Core Tiles

  • interior tiles (brick ×3, wood ×4, sheep ×4, wheat ×4, ore ×3 and desert ×1)
  • perimeter port tiles (three 3:1 ports, along with brick, wood, sheep, wheat, and ore 2:1 ports)
  • three blank corner water perimeter pieces (semi-optional)
  • six blank water perimeter pieces (semi-optional, especially if you have the fish expansion pack tiles below).

    Expansion Packs

  • Fish
    • six fish perimeter pieces which can be used to replace the six blank side water perimeter pieces (blue_x6_water4.stl). The Makerbot 2 had some troubles printing the originals, so the _v2 versions may remedy that by moving the pips below the numbers so that they actually touch. The _v3 versions remove some errant pieces that poked through the bottom.
  • 5-6 player expansion pack includes
    • two more each of brick, wood, sheep, wheat, and ore tiles
    • one more desert tile
    • two more of the 4-slotted water pieces (blue_x6_water4.stl) to be placed on the 2 side of the 2-3 3-1 port and on “8” side of the 1-2 3:1 port
    • a copy of the 1-2 3:1 port (catan_blue_x1_water_1-2_three-to-one_port.stl) to be placed on the 7 side of the 6-7 wheat 2:1 port
    • a copy of the 5-6 player sheep port (catan_blue_x1_water_9-1_sheep_port_5-6_player_expansion.stl)

      Notes

  • I'm currently in the process of getting these printed, and I hope to have a full game-board picture to post when they're finally finished. The current full-game image is a rendering from Blender.
  • A previous iteration had a lot of trouble printing the wheat-bundles (at least on the Makerbot 2 I was using). My first task is to get those printing a little better.
  • The _v2 ore tile fixes a strange non-manifold issue (I understood that TinkerCAD shouldn't even be able to create non-manifold surfaces)
  • The _v2 wood tile and port thickens the axe handle which didn't print at all on the port tile, and was a little flimsy on the main tile.
  • I've had a lot of fun making these. If you successfully print them yourself, I'd love to hear about it @Gumnos
