Summary

Like many, I enjoy headphones because of the greater sound quality, lack of disturbance of others, and general benefits they provide. However one of my greatest problems was the poor design of the cable. The cable always has a tendency to break, and it cannot be replaced afterwards as it is integrated directly into the device. Wireless headphones, or studio headphones with detachable cables are expensive. So I opted for another solution. This is that solution.

The files contain a pdf writeup with more detail on the assembly of the design. There are also full STP file sets should you wish to modify the design.

The zip folders containing the models are named after the two design options they are versioned around. The first is what sort of fasteners they use for parts of the design (captive Nuts vs Thermal inserts), and the second is the common part number for the shape of 3.5mm audio jack. ie. The model that uses captive nuts and a PJ317 audio port would be the "Nuts PJ317".

Comment with any questions or issues and I'll do my best to respond.
