I purchased a 3D Pen to use as a "glue gun" to fix tabs, ears and small imperfections on long prints from my 3D printer.
Since I purchased the cheapest one I could find on Amazon, it did not include a pen holder or base. So, I whipped up something in 123d Design and figured if I needed it, someone else might also. So here it is...
The holder is designed to make 8 small points of contact, while allowing adequate airflow around the nozzle. It will keep the heat transfer from the pen to the holder to a minimum. Also the top fingers allow a little flex so if you lightly push the pen in, it can be removed without lifting the holder. If you push the pen in a little harder, it will flex and grab the pen, giving it more holding power.
Lastly, my 3D pen tends to ooze a lot of material when hot, so I would highly recommend putting a piece of paper below the base.
