A cap to reinforce the connection, from a 3.5 mm audio-jack where all plastic was removed, to the cable which is soldered on.
Headphone cables often break directly at the audio jack. There is no cable left to solder to, if you remove the damaged cable part. By removing all plastic from the audio-jack, the cable can be directly soldered to it. The Audio Jack Cap can afterwards be used as reinforcement, together with a Heat Shrink Tube for a bendy transition to the cable. The cap can then be filled with Hot Glue.
