Silly thingiverse! The triangle should stand up, not balance on one edge.
My vision is three portrait-mounted 55" TVs with capacitive touch surfaces. Think super giant iPads. Each one connects to a Raspberry Pi and displays an interactive map of the venue. The map calls out where you are. After a period without being touched it can play an animation, zoom to default coordinates, or more. If given the event schedule it can call out "walk this way! in 10 minutes there's a thing happening!"
The three identical panels can be flat packed for storage. All electronics and wiring are deliberately made explicit to educate young users, but they don't have to be. The panels can be run individually or stood in a triangle. BOM with quick google price search shows all wood and electronics within budget. (better prices in the US and with more searching?)
I don't have the software to run on the RPI. Shame! I'm sure it can be done, but I don't have the time.
