This is a master mold box for making silicone lure molds. I use multi-processes to print the lure and key areas at .08 layer height to make them as smooth as possible. Wet sanding will help make it even better. I also hit the mold boxes with a light coat of matte clear acrylic spray.
I use a relatively heavy rectilinear infill (40%) to ensure clean top layers and a solid mold box.
There are vented versions included. These should help if you are getting incomplete filling toward the tail, but require a little more cleanup as it leaves an addition sprue on the lure body.
Print two of the Mold Frames to secure the silicone mold halves when casting. (Rubber bands seated int he notches work well to hold them together.) I also use cheap disposable syringes to inject the casting material into the mold. (I use urethane from SmoothOn.)
The channels at the nose, tail and bottom can be plugged with filament to retain pilot holes for screw eyelets. I use 2mm OD solid PTFE filament for this because it doesn't stick in the casting.
