These modules are made to such awful spec that your display could be as much as 2mm out of alignment. In some cases they used entirely different USB ports requiring major clearance.This aims to change the profile the least amount as possible to retain a tight fit while allowing your various board to more cleanly fit the mount points.
The original model says it closes magnetically but does not show it nor did I ever figure out how you would employ it.
