I designed a custom frame for an old Porsche 911 Hot wheels car for converting to a tiny RC car. Uses some somewhat specific components, so you may need to modify it to suit your needs or for other car bodies.
powered by a k10 motor from a 9g servo
uses 2x5x2.5mm bearings for the front and back wheels
I'm using a 8ch DasMikro receiver
2x1s batteries in parallel
1.7g servo for steering
It takes a lot of work to get it all working properly. If you plan to make this expect to do lots of sanding and drilling out the holes for the proper size.
The front steering and suspension uses tiny springs and steel rods to allow the steering knuckles to move up and down.
This is still a bit of a work in progress, I'm planning on moving away from using a worm gear drive system since that isn't well suited for RC cars. The spur gear that meshes with the worm gear was taken from a larger motors output shaft and the worm gear I just had laying around.
