Summary

This model is a lens mount dome light setup even illumination and for Multi Light Imaging, as needed for photometric stereo. The core part is the lens mount, which is specific for the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO macro lens. The LEDs are mounted on 8 arms which each can hold 2 LEDs (mounted on star plates). The arms can be clicked into slits on the lens mount and fixed with screws.

To accommodate the wiring needed to individually control the LEDs, I designed a serial port connector for a 12 core cable (U.I. Lapp GmbH, Germany), which can be mounted on the hotshoe of the camera (Nikon DSLR/mirrorless, can be adapted easily). For this, serial port connectors (both sides) salvaged from old printers and cables can be used.

All parts were successfully printed using PETG and a layer height of 0.2 mm with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

The models were created and can be edited in FreeCAD (FCStd files).
