This is a simple carriage which works with magnetic ball joints and Delrin or POM wheels on 1515 extrusions. You can get the wheels inexpensively from DeltaPrintr.com

Materials and methods

You will also need the usual M3 bolts, washers and nuts:

• 3 M3x25 bolts for the axles.
• 3 M3 washers as spacers.
• 3 M3 nyloc nuts to hold the wheels on.
• 1 M3x35 bolt for pretensioning.
• 1 M3 nyloc nut for pretensioning.
• 2 ball studs.
• 2 M3 nylock nuts to hold the ball studs on.

Aug. 2, 2016: Modified the carriage to add a place to attach a string, so that you can use a string with a spring to act as a safety in case something happens and the magnetic joint separates. This can also be used to supplement the magnetic attraction.
