This is a simple carriage which works with magnetic ball joints and Delrin or POM wheels on 1515 extrusions. You can get the wheels inexpensively from DeltaPrintr.com
This works nicely with my magnetic effector: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/kossel-plus-magnetic-effector
And with my magnetic ball joint rod ends:

It is based on my more universal Kossel carriage:

Contact me at [email protected] if you need an inexpensive source for the ball studs ($1) and/or magnets ($2). I also build carbon fiber arms in standard lengths of 215mm, 288mm, and 304mm and a set of 6 (with the 12 ball studs) is $60.
Materials and methods
Deltaprintr sells 9 carriage wheels with bearings for $20: http://deltaprintr.com/shop/hardware/carriage-wheel/
You will also need the usual M3 bolts, washers and nuts:
Contact me if you need an inexpensive source for the ball studs. I had a bunch custom fabricated. 1000 were essentially the same price as 50, so I have lots left over to share with the Delta/Maker community! I'm offering them for $1 each, plus shipping. [email protected]
Aug. 2, 2016: Modified the carriage to add a place to attach a string, so that you can use a string with a spring to act as a safety in case something happens and the magnetic joint separates. This can also be used to supplement the magnetic attraction.
March 2017: Added versions for 2020 carriages with Delrin wheels:
